Mexico City has been named a Trigger City by Chartmetric when it comes to streaming music and creating new phenomenons. The numbers for streaming services have been skyrocketing for Latin American countries and it was just a matter of time before the local talent started to skyrocket as well.

There are many reasons to support local acts but sadly, Mexico had a tendency of supporting everyone but its own talent. Luckily, the situation has been shifting in recent years and a lot of it has to do with the prodigious talent that has been leading the industry.

We are thrilled to present you the list of acts that are dominating the way for a whole new generation of local artists. Their genres are more diverse than you can imagine, however, each one of the projects has a solid base and have done an impactful difference in the last few years.

1.Jessica Audiffred:

Mexico City’s visionary producer has been leading the Bass scene in the country for a couple of years now and it was a matter of time before she broke to America and became a “not to miss act”  in the music festivals over there. Admiration for her starts from the fact she now has her own label, A Records, and has become one of Circus Records recurrent producers. She recently started throwing her own parties, proving that Bass music is only on the rise in the country.

2. Ghetto Kids

They describe their project as 2 DJs and 1 drummer but the guys have unfolded to so much more than that. The Latin Grammy nominees, Alejandro Estrada, Jonathan Torres, and Luis Díaz have stayed true to their roots and sound but at the same time, they have contributed to the growing urban scene in the country. Not only they’ve headlined the major festivals in Mexico, but they also put together their own -Ghetto Kids & Friends- and have been setting records on streaming platforms with their latest single TRA TRA TRA, one of the first strong reggaetón proposals 100% Made in Mexico.

3. Tom & Collins

The duo took a while to find their pinpoint sound but since then, it has evolved to become a remarkable proposal within the house spectrum. Needless to say, their vibey productions have led them to represent Mexico at world-class events and venues such as Tomorrowland, EDC Vegas, and Ushuaïa. Plus, they have the right sound to headline any festival and also be heard in the more underground stages, something that is hard to achieve for any artist. They gained respect from international producers and fans but the best part is… they’re just getting started.
