In this era of music collaborations and producers booming all around the world, it doesn’t come as a surprise to find out that famous DJs -who are even better producers- collaborate with artists from a wide variety of genres. This is the case for the skilled producer, Sony Moore, A.K.A. Skrillex.
If you didn’t know already, here are 5 superb songs he produced (or co-produced) that will definitely blow your mind:
1.Epa Wei: Danny Ocean
According to the credits from streaming platforms, Skrillex not only produced but also helped in the process of writing the lyrics for this song that became an instant hit. Danny talked to Genius.com about how it was born: “I was heading out from a studio and suddenly I received a FaceTime call from an unknown number. When I picked up, it was Skrillex”.
2. Sorry: Justin Bieber
It is not a coincidence that more people -especially guys- started to like Justin’s music when he released his album “Purpose“. The sound is more mature than his previous ones, but a lot of it had to do with Skrillex being behind the music. He was a co-producer in 5 out of the 13 songs in the album.
3. Chemicals – Key (SHINee)
This is not the first time Skrillex produced a K-Pop hit. In this particular song, he shares credits with other producers such as Valentino Khan but you can definitely identify Skrillex’s PARTICULAR sound. Personally, this song is my favorite from all the album.
4. Arms Around You- XXXTENTACION & Lil Pump ft. Maluma & Swae Lee
Just by reading the names on this collab you can tell it is fire, however, when you dig deeper and realize Skrillex is behind the production you can doubtless guarantee it will be added to your “favorites” playlist. Jon Fx and Mally Mall are also producers in this bomb.
5. Angel – Fifth Harmony
Released in 2017, Angel is part of Fifth Harmony’s self-titled album. Poo Bear joined Skrillex in this production to give the girl group a more mature and grown-up sound.
